OUR SERVICES
We believe you can change your life for the better. Lasting change begins when you believe too.
Experienced and empathic therapists for high-performing individuals.
Your connection with others directly impacts your health.
Getting along with others, having a sense of belonging, and feeling like you have worth and value—all of this matters.
When you have experiences with others that are predominantly negative, life can be quite painful. But it doesn't have to be this way. It's never too late to have a different experience.

At Watermark, the first step during couples/relationship therapy is to get to know you and gather information about your relationship history and current issues. We will work with you to establish a shared understanding of problem areas and set goals together. While we may provide initial suggestions, it is a priority to establish a framework where each person feels safe and can trust they will be seen, heard, and valued without judgement or criticism.
If there is a relationship issue you would prefer to discuss without your partner or family member present, we can support you during an individual therapy session.
Family Support Services
If you are providing care for elderly parents, coping with a loved one suffering from addiction or severe illness (mental/physical), or experiencing an intense healthcare crisis, we are here to help you navigate your care options and ease the emotional weight that often arises during these challenging times.

Your counsellor will ask questions about your current situation, your relationship with the person that needs care, and the challenges or stressors you may be facing. You will also be provided with resources and education on caregiving options.
In addition, we will discuss the goals of therapy and the specific needs and concerns of the family and caregiver. This may involve exploring coping strategies, stress management techniques, and self-care practices that can help manage the caregiver and family's emotional wellbeing.
Emotion Coaching for Parents
An empathetic parenting technique that fosters emotional awareness and communication skills in children.
This style of parenting leadership often results in children who are confident, focused and able to think for themselves. Parents report a reduction in stress and family conflict and positive neuro/physiological transformation.

Many high-achieving parents excel in passing down their systems for success and goal-reaching methodologies. Unfortunately, depression and discontent permeate our modern lives, and achievement does not always result in feeling fulfilled.
By equipping children with strong emotional tools, they will be able to face challenges, build resilience during hard times, and continue to stay engaged in their lives, while many others check out.
-
Desire a relationship with our child built on trust
Try to make our children feel better -- but it doesn't always work
Value emotional communication but struggle to put it into practice
Feel like we failed when our child experiences intense negative emotions
Become impatient and irritated when our child is angry and frustrated
Whatever your situation, you have what it takes to be the leader, confidante, and biggest supporter of your child in the way that makes sense and resonates with their unique personality.
It's not too late to get started.
-
Your counsellor will start by asking you to share parenting challenges and goals, as well as any emotional experiences that have influenced your parenting style. Together, we will review the principles of emotion coaching, including how to recognize children's emotions, how to communicate empathy and understanding, and how to utilize negative emotions as a teaching moment to connect with your child.
High-performing parents are often solution and action-oriented so your therapist will help you leverage these skills with a fresh perspective, leading to a deeper, healthier parent- child relationship that directly correlates with future success.
Co-Parenting Support through Separation/Divorce
Co-parenting Support offers families an alternative to the court process. This process is best for families who are considering separation or who have already made the decision to separate and are looking for assistance during this significant transition.
Through a compassionate and empathic approach, Co-Parenting Support assists you in navigating difficult conversations and decisions while keeping the needs of your children at the center. Your clinician brings a background in conflict resolution and a comprehensive understanding of children’s needs to assist clients in finding a resolution that meets the unique needs of their family. We work to help parents redefine the future of their family with empathy, respect, and impartiality while focusing on both the immediate and long term needs of their children.

-
The first step in your Co-Parenting Support work is to establish mutually agreeable goals and guidelines for the work. Your therapist will walk through the co-parenting agreement to ensure both parties understand their individual roles and responsibilities and to set the tone for the work to be productive and supportive moving forward.
Each family is unique and for that reason your therapist will discuss how best to structure each session to ensure communication is as clear and effective as possible. We will discuss the recommended number of sessions to ensure your family is able to come to a resolution that meets the needs of the children.

Reduced Rate Counselling
In an effort to provide therapy at a reduced rate, we have developed an internship program to provide affordable/sliding scale options for clients who qualify.
Participating interns will be supervised by licensed therapists and receive training in evidence-based approaches to therapy, attachment theory, and trauma-informed care.
This program will provide valuable training and support to aspiring therapists and help us make therapy accessible to all. Everyone deserves the opportunity to improve their mental health, and we are excited to take this step towards achieving this goal.
Interested in our internship program?
We are currently accepting applicants for January 2026. Prospective students interested in interning with Watermark, please send a CV and cover letter to hello@watermarkcounselling.ca .
